The Tab Container Control in IE 8 is not visible (OK in IE10)
The error is "Object doesn't support this property or method"

Comments: I'm having a similar issue but it's happening in all browsers - I have multiple tabs with user controls inside them. Initially all of the tabs display correctly, but when I interact with the user controls (that cause a partial postback) the tab goes blank and my update panel progress animation displays permanently. In Firefox the error reported is this: "TypeError: t._tabs[i.activeTabIndex] is undefined". In Chrome the error is this: "TypeError: Cannot read property '_set_active' of undefined" The issue only happens with the December release 4.1.7.1213 (14/12/2013), but works again with the previous version.
